The common way of getting the ip address of an incoming connection in Elixir/Phoenix is to access conn.remote_ip. In addition, Fly provides an explicit Fly-Client-IP that it forwards to applications. Is there a recommended way of getting the ip address for Gigalixir?

We rely on the conn.remote_ip in several places on our applications.

On the gigalixirapp.com domain, incoming headers ‘x-forwarded-for’, ‘x-real-ip’, and ‘x-original-forwarded-for’ all contain the original client IP that you might be looking for.
